New research has linked cigarette smoke to lung damage by disrupting the lymphatic system. The study found that cigarette smoke causes blood clots to form in lung lymphatic vessels, hindering the drainage of fluid and immune cells. This impaired lymphatic function precedes the development of emphysema and may be a key factor in its progression.

I'm excited to be taking this class with Dr. Chikly this weekend. I love how his understanding of the body is grounded in scientific research yet he does not let that restrict the possibilities for treating it. I have no idea what these techniques might look like but I know they will be effective in ways I do not yet understand.
