Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a day of profound historical significance. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas with the news that the more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in the state were free, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth is not only a time to remember the past but also to look forward, as we strive for a future where every individual has access to quality healthcare, free from discrimination and bias. We are dedicated to fostering an environment of inclusivity, respect, and support for our patients and colleagues of all backgrounds.

May this day remind us to celebrate freedom and inspire us to continue the fight for racial equality. Happy Juneteenth!
