Meet Dr. Amelia Krug. "I am one of the new first year fellows at the MN Regional Poison Center and Regions Hospital (2025-2027). I grew up in Southwest Minneapolis, but wandered over to the University of Wisconsin, Madison for undergraduate studies. While there, I studied anything and everything and ended up majoring in Botany. I worked as a botanist for 4 years conducting field research (plant surveys and environmental impact statements in the Midwest) and bench lab research in phylogenetics. Over time, I became more interested in the nexus between environmental health and human health leading to the completion of my medical degree at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Continuing on my journey of an aspiring Renaissance woman, I completed the combined residency program in Emergency Medicine & Internal Medicine at HCMC. I first became interested in the idea of toxicology training when applying to medical school and feel incredibly lucky to have finally started fellowship. So far my current interests in toxicology include plants (obviously), occupational and industrial toxicology, critical care/ECMO, and community education. In my free time I enjoy spending time outside with my family. Help us welcome Dr. Krug!
