🎉 Congratulations to All of the 2025 Spun Gold Honorees!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our resident, Nancy Mambi, who was recognized for her extraordinary 20 years of leadership at the Textile Center, where she oversees over 35,000 books — the nation’s largest textile-focused collection. Her dedication and impact in the fiber arts community are truly inspiring!

We also extend our warmest congratulations to this year’s Spun Gold Award winners, Linda McShannock and Mary Mortenson. Their contributions, creativity, and commitment shine brightly across Minnesota’s arts community.

The Pillars of Prospect Park was honored to sponsor this special event and celebrate such remarkable women. Congratulations to all — your work enriches our entire community! 🌟

This week, a new cohort of University of Minnesota Physical Therapy students visited The Pillars to practice hands-on learning and connect with residents. These intergenerational experiences not only strengthen professional skills, but also remind us what compassionate care looks like in action.

We’re proud to partner with the U of M to inspire the next generation of healthcare leaders — and to see our residents light up while sharing their wisdom and stories. 🩺✨

Help us welcome Savannah Thissen, our new Dimensions Manager to The Pillars community!

Savannah brings a wealth of hands-on experience in senior care and a passion for supporting those living with dementia through dignity, purpose, and connection. She has grown from a home-health aide into roles in life enrichment and administration and is continuing her education in Health Science and Applied Leadership to further serve older adults.

Outside of work, Savannah enjoys time outdoors with her husband Cole, riding her retired racehorse Kaprizov, and spending time with her three energetic dogs and very patient cat. She also served over 920 hours as a volunteer firefighter — dedication to service is in her bones!

We are thrilled to welcome Savannah to The Pillars family — we’re so glad you’re here 🤍✨

💙 Honoring Family Caregivers Month 💙

Governor Tim Walz has officially proclaimed November as Family Caregivers Month in Minnesota — a time to recognize the extraordinary individuals who provide care, support, and love to family members every single day.

At The Pillars of Prospect Park, we see firsthand the heart, strength, and dedication family caregivers pour into their loved ones. Their compassion enriches lives and strengthens our community in ways that too often go unseen.

To all caregivers — thank you.
Thank you for your patience, your advocacy, your resilience, and your unwavering love. You are the backbone of care in Minnesota, and we honor you this month and always. 💛

Let’s continue to uplift, support, and stand alongside the caregivers who make a world of difference — one day, one hour, and one moment of care at a time.

Governor Tim Walz has declared November 2025 as Family Caregivers Month. Minnesota reaffirms its commitment to supporting family caregivers through education, training, respite care, and access to resources that help reduce isolation and strengthen well-being;

As Sharhaz shares in the story, you can learn lessons here that no classroom can teach. 💛
