I am deeply humbled and honored to receive the Chapter Meritorious Award, the highest award bestowed upon an AMTA member by a chapter. This award acknowledges diligent volunteerism performed in an altruistic manner, and I am grateful beyond words to be recognized in this way.

For the past 25 years, it has been my privilege to serve as a member of the American Massage Therapy Association - AMTA—the most trusted name in massage therapy and the largest nonprofit association serving our profession. Through my time with AMTA, I’ve been surrounded by people who inspire me daily: dedicated professionals who uphold the mission of advancing the art, science, and practice of massage therapy, while serving members with integrity, respect, and compassion.

Along this journey, I’ve been blessed to create friendships that feel like family, spanning across the country and even the world. I’ve had the honor of mentoring therapists both new and experienced, while also being mentored by some of the very best in our field. These relationships have shaped not only my career, but the person I strive to be every day.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the chapter board for this recognition, and to the entire association for providing a place where passion, professionalism, and community thrive. It has truly been my joy to give back to this profession that has given me so much.

This past week, I had the privilege of celebrating with an extraordinary team that I've been honored to work with this season. The MN Frost achieved a groundbreaking feat by securing back-to-back Championships and bringing home the Walter Cup. If you missed the games, you missed out on witnessing exceptional hockey.
Collaborating with this medical team has been a profoundly impactful experience. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with such elite athletes.

Our heads weighs about 5kg (11lb). The neck supports the weight of the head which, according to the angle of the inclination, increases.

The more we look down, the more our heads weigh. According to the cervical segment that takes weight and stress, the head weight fluctuates to less than 5kg, but if you lean forward it weighs more and more. When bent at 60 degrees, it charges 22-27 kg (48–59lb) on lower cervical vertebrae and down the chest. Indeed, the entire spine.

What's more, the support plethora of soft tissues, fascias, muscles, ligaments and tendons becomes tense and tired, which increases tension on joints and discs. If not now, then down the track, this will have an impact on the neck as it gets stiffer and the likelihood of creating problems elsewhere.
