Once you have found a surgeon and know the cost and details of the surgery, you can begin to prepare.

Here is a pre-operation checklist to help you ensure that you have everything you will need after surgery:

- A sports bra in the new breast size to wear immediately after the surgery.✅

- Loose front-fastening tops, as it may be difficult to raise your arms above your head right after surgery.✅

- Elasticated trousers.✅

- Slippers and a dressing gown.✅

- Books, magazines, and a tablet with a charger.✅

- Wet wipes.✅

- Moisturiser and lip balm.✅

- Water bottle with a straw for easier drinking while lying down.✅

- Snacks - you will not be able to eat before surgery, so you may feel hungry afterwards. You may also want to bring some crackers or ginger biscuits to combat nausea, as anaesthesia can make some people feel sick.✅

If the surgeon recommends staying in the hospital overnight, pack loose, comfortable pajamas and overnight toiletries.

On the day of your surgery, it's a good idea to wear comfortable clothing so you can feel as relaxed as possible. Before entering the operating room, you will be given a hospital gown to wear.
