Single-use t-shirts are my arch nemesis. While they provide great raw material for my projects, the staggering impact of disposable fast fashion cannot be ignored. After just a few wears, these shirts often end up in donation bins, unsold at thrift stores, and eventually exported to countries like Ghana, where they become someone else’s problem. It’s time to rethink our relationship with clothes and stop the mindless consumption of fast fashion. The future of our planet depends on it.

I’ve just completed another weighted blanket, but I’ve decided to take a temporary break from creating new ones. My recent brain surgery and feelings of being stuck in a rut have slowed me down. While I’m passionate about rescuing and repurposing textiles, I’m also mindful of my limitations. To reignite my spark, I’m shifting focus to mending and repairing existing items. Hello world! On the other side of my cavernoma brain surgery, and just wanted to go back to by happy place for a moment. Vending with the was a blast this summer and I hope to do so again this year. (After recovering of course)! Thank you all for the love and support. This year I hope to continue focusing on upcycling, being a mindful consumer and of course reducing more textile waste! 💚🍃♻️
