Cheng was hesitant to try new things—so when he was invited to a pottery residency with Mudluk Pottery, no one expected him to say yes. He surprised everyone. Cheng showed up every week and discovered a natural talent for shaping clay. By the end, he'd created stunning blue-glazed bowls that were displayed and sold at the studio. At the pottery wheel, he found something powerful: creativity, calm, and confidence. This is what arts programming makes possible. After pandemic disruptions, consistent arts programming has returned to our St. Louis Park day services—but only with donor support.
