NPR featured our work. What they found reflects what we see every day.
Thousands of immigrant families in Minneapolis are avoiding medical care out of fear that seeking help could lead to deportation. Parents are making impossible choices between safety and their children’s health.
Since December, Inspire Change Clinic has mobilized 150+ volunteer providers to deliver home based care including pediatric checkups, prenatal visits, wound care, and medication delivery. We are bringing essential care directly to patients.
When trust collapses, access to healthcare collapses with it. We are addressing urgent needs through home visits and safe transport, but restoring care at scale requires rebuilding trust and community centered systems.

Fear and uncertainty have made it harder for some families to work, access healthcare, and meet basic needs.

This food drive is one way we’re trying to help. Our clinic is open 9am–6pm, and food donations can be dropped off anytime during those hours.

At Inspire Change Clinic, we’re grateful to serve families across our community and build solutions that meet people where they are.

Health equity starts with listening. It grows through showing up with care. And when we improve access to vaccination, breastfeeding support, and preventive services, we do it through deep trust and steady collaboration.

I’m proud of the progress we’re making together and energized for what’s ahead.

Children’s Minnesota is dedicated to advancing health equity in our communities. In collaboration with Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation, we are proud to partner with Munira Maalimisaq, FNP, DNP-c, as she launched Inspire Change Clinic , which is working out in the community to increase access to vaccination, breastfeeding and more.

“Leaders like Munira help us really understand more around the community context that results in the health disparities and health inequities that we see in our communities and in our health care overall in Minnesota,” said Lauren Gilchrist, senior director of the Collective for Community Health at Children’s Minnesota.

Join Us: Understanding Vaccine-Preventable Diseases

Vaccine-preventable diseases are making a comeback. U.S. measles cases hit a 33-year high this year.

With cuts to foreign aid, growing vaccine hesitancy, and gaps in vaccine access, diseases once thought eliminated are returning globally.

The global disease tracker traces outbreaks of nine childhood diseases including chickenpox, measles, mumps, polio, and whooping cough, providing a valuable resource for understanding worldwide trends.

ICC is hosting a community discussion on vaccines, upper respiratory infections, and myths surrounding autism. This is a safe space for accurate information, open dialogue, and learning together.

Whether you’re a clinician, nurse, interpreter, parent, caregiver, or this discussion is an opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and engage without judgment.
