MISSION:
One Yoga improves health equity in our community through access to a broad range of teachings and practices of yoga.
VISION:
One Yoga breaks down social, cultural, and economic barriers to yoga. HISTORY:
One Yoga opened its doors in July 2002. In April 2005, seeing the need to make yoga and mindfulness practices more broadly accessible, a group of instructors took the initiative to appl
y for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The application was approved in March 2007, allowing staff and teachers to implement new programming, including a community outreach program; sliding-fee rates for memberships and classes; and mission-driven classes, workshops, and series. In December 2010, One Yoga moved from Franklin & Lyndale to its studio on W. 26th St. in Minneapolis, its home for nearly 10 years. In October 2020, after closing to in-person classes for more than half a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, One Yoga went completely virtual by ending the lease on the 26th St. In April 2022, One Yoga opened a new studio in the Ivy Arts Building in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis. CLASSES & PROGRAMS:
One Yoga offers 33 in-studio and virtual classes per week, including weekly outdoor classes June through September in Matthews Park and Brackett Park in Minneapolis. In 2022, we served an average of 194 unique students each month. Through our Sliding-Fee Program, we offer reduced rates on class passes and memberships for individuals experiencing financial hardship. In 2022, we served 88 sliding-fee students. In 2022, we served 571 new students (an increase of 122% from 2021). We host regular workshops, series, and advanced trainings inspired by our mission to advance health equity. In 2022, we hosted 26 workshops and trainings, and served a total of 988 unique clients. This included 28 clients in a special 4-day advanced Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga training. One Yoga collaborates with community organizations, businesses, and schools to bring yoga to more folks in our community. In 2022, we began a multi-year partnership with St. Paul Public Schools and their Flipside Afterschool Program. In 2022, our "Yoga & Mindfulness: Tools for Self-Care & Compassionate Leadership for Youth" programming worked with middle schoolers at Global Arts Plus Upper School in St. This project was made possible through the ARP Grant from St. PRICING & MEMBERSHIP:
