We DOUBLED last month’s numbers with 20 athletes hitting 15 or more check-ins to close out July strong! That’s 20 people who made the decision—day after day—to show up, put in the work, and commit to their goals. 💪

🔥 August Athlete of the Month: Yannick Formbor Nono🔥

If you’ve ever walked through the doors of CCF, chances are you’ve seen — you could say he's hard to miss. At 6'8, he’s not only our tallest athlete, but also one of our biggest personalities, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Yannick is the definition of showing up and doing the work. He’s here every single day (committed club woot woot), never complains, and is always chasing growth. Whether it’s a brutal WOD or a new skill, he brings a positive attitude and a drive to improve that inspires everyone around him.

Outside the gym? He’s still showing up. From team events to community hangs, Yannick is the guy you want on your squad — fun, supportive, and always down for some healthy competition. He's also the runner up of our Calories on Bike challenge for July. DOUBLE WIN!!!

He’s the friendly face we all look forward to seeing every morning, and CCF is better because he’s part of it.

🚴‍♂️ JULY CHALLENGE CHAMPION: MATT GONZALEZ🚴‍♂️
aka "Crazy Matt", aka "Sparta", aka Please Save Some Calories for the Rest of Us.

After winning our last challenge with max pull-ups, Matt decided he wasn’t done yet. This time, the goal was max bike calories—and he set his sights on a cool 10,000.
..But of course, he didn’t stop there.
He CRUSHED the goal with a jaw-dropping 16,001 calories logged for July. 🥵
Day after day. Hour after hour. Just showing up and putting in the work.

💥Congrats, Matt — you’ve officially secured your place in CCF challenge legend status.

🏆Shoutout to our 2nd & 3rd place legends:
🔥Yann (2,272 cal) &🔥Steph (2,225 cal)

These two had one of the most entertaining, good-natured rivalries we’ve ever seen at CCF.
They biked, they bantered, they pushed each other — and it was awesome to watch.

👏 Huge props to everyone who joined in this month. These challenges are about more than just numbers — they’re about consistency, community, and a little friendly competition.

We’re halfway through the month and already have 14 athletes sitting at 8+ classes so far. Solid work, crew!

To lock in your spot for the end-of-month giveaway, aim for 15 or more check-ins by July 31st.

The GORUCK TAKEOVER Workout is a unique, full-body challenge that combines rucking with other strength exercises. It's perfect for all fitness levels and designed to build strength and endurance, while connecting you with a supportive community. Push your limits and have fun doing it!

WHAT TO BRING - REQUIRED
- A rucksack/backpack/weighted vest (Rucker recommended)
- Ruck Plate (or equivalent) in your rucksack = to your weight suggestion
- Men = 20 lb. Ruck Plate
- Women = 10 lb. Ruck Plate
- Kids = water,books/etc.
- Water bottle recommended.
- Smiles

***After the 5K, we will gather back at the gym for refreshments. This is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage) gathering. At that time, patches will be handed out to the finishers.***

We had 9 athletes absolutely crush it this month by hitting 15 or more classes — showing up, putting in the work, and staying consistent even as summer schedules start to heat up. 🔥

🌟Congrats to Kristeen Gammon, our randomized winner this month! Your dedication paid off — congrats!

Also, we’ve got to give a special shoutout to Mary Taylor, our Bring-A-Friend raffle winner from June. Mary might be new, but she’s already a force to be reckoned with — she’s the ONLY bring-a-friend athlete who’s been in the gym every single day since she first walked through the door. We’re calling it now: she’s a lock for our July Committed Club. 💪

🎉July Athlete of the Month: Philip Green!🎉

When you think of a competitive athlete, it’s easy to picture someone who sticks to their own lane—laser-focused on their goals, head down, earbuds in. But Philip Green breaks that stereotype in the best way possible.

Phil is not just a standout competitor; he’s also a cornerstone of our community. Whether he’s the first to introduce himself to a new face, coming in early to help someone fine-tune their muscle ups, or stepping in to coach a class when we need it, Phil shows up for everyone. He's also the first one to sign up for any events outside the gym and always looking to lend a hand where needed.

He’s proof that you can be fiercely driven and incredibly generous with your time and energy. Our gym is better, stronger, and more welcoming because of athletes like him.
