There’s nothing better than building Decompress with an incredible team of women.
When I expanded Decompress over two years ago, it was just me and one other therapist. I didn’t get approved for any loans, so we couldn’t afford a front desk receptionist. We kept the door locked during sessions and returned phone calls in the 15 minutes between appointments. It wasn’t ideal, but it was the season we were in, and we made it work.
Every time we expand, add a new role, or take a leap of faith, there’s a moment where it feels obvious that it’s time. And right behind that comes the doubt. Can we afford this? What if this is the wrong move? There’s no moment where everything suddenly feels calm and certain. Sometimes the decision works beautifully. Sometimes I learn the hard way.
What I’ve learned is this. You don’t grow because you feel confident. You feel confident because you grew. Confidence doesn’t come from waiting until something feels safe. It comes from taking the step, figuring it out, and realizing you’re more capable than you thought.
That’s why I’m so excited to welcome our newest Spa Manager, Lori. She is thoughtful, capable, and a strong leader, and I know she’s going to a great job leading our St. Louis Park location. Our amazing Spa Manager Kristina will continue leading Plymouth.
I couldn’t and wouldn’t want to build this without a leadership team made up of creative, talented women who are willing to step into growth with me.
