🧀 The Swiss Cheese Model of Self-Care 🧠✨

One self-care strategy isn't meant to do it all — and that's perfectly okay.

Think of self-care like Swiss cheese. Each "slice" is a strategy: therapy, rest, nutrition, boundaries, movement, connection, creative outlets, etc. Each has its strengths and its holes — but when layered together, they offer real protection against burnout, stress, and emotional overload.

Layered self-care might look like:

• Going to therapy weekly 🛋️
• Saying no to an extra project at work 🙅‍♀️
• Moving your body with a walk or stretching 🚶‍♂️
• Reaching out to a friend just to check in 📞
• Turning off notifications before bed 📵
• Journaling to process emotions 📖
• Taking your meds and staying hydrated 💊💧
• Getting 7+ hours of sleep consistently 😴

Each one helps fill the gaps the others can’t. The goal isn’t perfection — it’s consistency and variety.
