Don’t want to scare ya here but……….Your workout doesn’t give you a free pass to sit all day.
Prolonged sitting is an independent risk factor for disease and early death - regardless of your fitness level!

Most people think if they work out 3-4 times a week, they’re good. But here’s the problem: you can’t out-train 8+ hours of sitting.

Research shows prolonged sitting is independently linked to chronic disease, metabolic dysfunction, poor mental health, and early death - even in people who exercise regularly.

The receipts::::::
Sitting 6-8+ hours daily increases all-cause mortality risk by 20-40%. That means you’re literally more likely to die earlier just from sitting.

Easy fix tho! - small changes create MASSIVE results:
One large study found that going from ~3,000 steps/day to ~7,000 steps/day reduced all-cause mortality by 50-70%. You don’t need to become a marathon runner. You just need to MOVE MORE throughout your day.

Why movement is non-negotiable:
Your body needs regular movement to:
• Regulate blood sugar and insulin sensitivity
• Lower systemic inflammation• Preserve muscle mass (one of THE strongest predictors of longevity)
• Support mental health and brain function
• Keep your nervous system adaptable and resilient

OK SO WHAT IS THE SOLUTION???????????????
Movement snacks.
You don’t need more motivation - you need more movement exposure throughout the day:
• 2-5 minute walk every hour
• Standing between tasks
• Air squats, lunges, or pushups while coffee brews
• Walking phone calls
• Park farther away
• Take the stairs
• Stretch between meetings

Small inputs. Massive long-term payoff.
Your body is designed to move FREQUENTLY, not intensely once then sit for 8 hours.

You’ve heard it before - AND ITS TRUE: Movement isn’t just exercise - it’s medicine.
And your nervous system responds to every single dose.
Start where you are. Stack small wins. Stay consistent.
Your future self will thank you.

This is what personalized care looks like! 🩻

When you come in for your first visit, we take X-rays. Not just to have them on file, but to create a baseline of exactly what’s going on with your spine.

Then here’s the difference: Every single visit after that, I pull up those X-rays before I adjust you. I’m not just guessing or doing the same adjustment on everyone. I’m looking at your specific structure, seeing what needs to be addressed, and adjusting based on what YOUR body needs.

And we don’t just stop there. We track your progress with updated X-rays so you can actually see the changes happening. You’ll feel the difference in how you move, how you sleep, how your body functions - but you’ll also be able to see your spine changing on the X-rays.

That’s how you know it’s working. That’s how you stay accountable. That’s how we make sure we’re actually fixing the problem, not just temporarily relieving symptoms.

You’re not a generic case. Your care shouldn’t be generic either.

Most athletes obsess over splits, supplements, and biohacks…..

But here’s what actually moves the needle: your body functioning the way it was designed to 🚨🚨🚨

All the training protocols and recovery stacks in the world won’t matter if your foundation—your spine, nervous system, and biomechanics—is compromised.

Think about it: You’re spending hours optimizing your macros and training volume, but ignoring the ONE system that controls literally everything your body does.

Research shows that proper spinal alignment and nervous system function can improve:
• Muscle strength and force output
• Reaction time and coordination
• Movement efficiency and biomechanics
• Recovery between training sessions

Your nervous system is your performance operating system. When it’s functioning optimally, everything else works better—power output, injury resilience, adaptation to training stress.

And yeah, those nagging issues that keep coming back? Usually a sign something bigger needs attention before it sidelines you completely.

As someone who’s trained hard for 20+ years—hockey, CrossFit, all of it—I’ve learned that training smarter beats training harder when your foundation is dialed in.

Ready to optimize yours? Let’s talk.

Adjusted athletes between events… then competed right alongside them. 🏋️‍♂️💪🩻

That’s a pretty solid Saturday !

Another successful year at Santa Bash !!! Always a blast being around people who care about training, health, and pushing themselves……while actually enjoying the process!

Ran a dead hang competition on the side (because why not?). Some of these kids hung for multiple minutes without dropping. Impressive!!!
And here’s something most people don’t know: grip strength is one of the strongest predictors of longevity in older adults….

It’s not just about holding onto a pull-up bar ….. it’s a direct marker of nervous system health, muscle function, and your body’s ability to stay resilient as you age.
The people who can still move well, stay strong, and adapt to physical demands? Those are the ones thriving into their 70s, 80s, and beyond.

Holiday PSA: 🎄
I practice what I preach.
If you want to keep training, stay active through the holidays, and still feel good doing it ………..whether that’s crushing a workout, playing with your grandkids, or carrying all the groceries in one trip 🛒🛒 taking care of your body matters.
Injuries don’t need to be the norm. Movement shouldn’t feel hard.
