Relate Counseling Center

Relate Counseling Center is a nonprofit community-based mental health center serving the Western Twin Cities suburbs.

We provide individual, group, couples and family therapy, as well as case management services. Relate continues to be the only nonprofit, state-licensed counseling center providing comprehensive mental and chemical health services to children, adolescents, and adults living in the western suburbs of Minneapolis. We partner with local school districts and food shelves to provide onsite services to communities in need. Relate positively impacts over 13,000 area individuals annually. More than half of our clients receive services for significantly reduced or no fees. Relate strives to be in the forefront of identifying needs in the community and providing the best possible care at the lowest cost.

On the third Monday of every year, we pause to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. King’s leadership and advocacy during the Civil Rights Movement and his commitment to nonviolent political action cannot be overstated. Although it is a federal holiday, Inclusion Council and many other activists encourage us all to treat is as a “Day On” to research the history of civil rights advocacy and reflect on our role in it.
In the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Inclusion Council invites you to engage in actions of nonviolent social change as King laid them out: information gathering, education, personal commitment, negotiation, direct action, and reconciliation.

With the killing of a community member by ICE agents in Minneapolis this week, our community is mourning and experiencing deep anger, fear, and pain. We recognize that this loss—along with increased ICE activity in our neighborhoods —has intensified distress, especially for immigrants, refugees, mixed-status families, and those who love and support them. We stand in solidarity with our community in grief and in care. We remain committed to holding space for healing, resilience, and collective support during this profoundly difficult time.
