Acupuncture coverage is VERY limited. Sanford, BCBSND, Medicare, and Medicaid do not cover acupuncture (that we know of). We found out of state BCBS and Federal BCBS cover some acupuncture. However, every plan is very different and we are learning every day who does cover acupuncture and not. It is important to call your insurance company BEFORE your appointment to check on coverage because every plan is different. Sometimes the clinic can not access your benefits so it is important for you to call on your behalf.

Did you know that chiropractic and acupuncture can help with Fibromyalgia?

“Fibromyalgia is characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, is present in as much as 0.4% to 9.3% of the population, and is often accompanied by fatigue, sleep difficulties, cognitive dysfunction, depressed mood, or depressive episodes (Zhang et al, 2019).

Most people think chiropractic is best for neck or back pain but chiropractic can be helpful for ANY joint and fibromyalgia pain. Chiropractic can help with structural mobility as well as helping with muscle imbalance. But did you know acupuncture can also help?!? Locally, acupuncture can use certain points near the fibromyalgia pain to help with muscle imbalance and tightness and nerve stimulation. But did you know, you can also use acupuncture points in the head, ears, hands, and feet to help with fibromyalgia pain too!

It is best to wear clothing that is comfortable and allows the practitioner to be able to access your back or limb you are wanting to be worked on. Patients typically wear shorts, leggings, yoga pants, sweat pants, t-shirts, or tank tops. If we are working on a specific area such as back pain, gown or shorts will be provided if necessary.
