Congratulations to Dr. Robyn Walker on the publication, co-authored with Dr. Casey Ozaki. 👏🏼
This research contributes to meaningful learning experiences for students.
Our first article feature for 2026 comes from Robyn Walker and Casey Ozaki; "Assessing Learning in Simulation Learning Experiences in Graduate Programs for Speech-Language Pathology: A Phenomenological Study." When asked the best part about incorporating these experiences into classroom learning, Walker stated that, "Simulation based learning experiences (SBLEs) provide learners with a structured, supportive environment that approximates real-world professional practice, while minimizing the risk to clients and students alike. SBLEs offer students the opportunity to engage with theory and content from academic coursework and apply it in authentic decision-making, problem-solving, and professional communication prior to entering their clinical practicums. Additionally, SBLEs align well with competency-based education by providing observable evidence of skill development and clinical competence."
