At Independence, Inc., we want to be a great place to work for people who care about empowering people with disabilities.
One way we do this is by helping our staff feel connected to the community where we live and serve. This year, we are hosting quarterly guest speakers at staff meetings to share about local history, community issues, and different perspectives. These conversations help build teamwork, boost morale, and support our work in ways that reflect the strengths and values of our community.
Today, we welcomed local author and history expert Barb Solberg. She shared stories about early Minot and how the cityโs founders faced real barriers while working toward their dreams.
Many of our staff are not from Minot, and they found real value in Barbโs presentation. Her strong storytelling brought the history to life and helped our team better understand the place we now call home.
