💜 Holding Hope – Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Group 💜

Pregnancy and infant loss can be one of the most painful and isolating experiences a person or family will ever face. So often, the world keeps moving while your heart feels like it has stopped. Many struggle in silence, unsure of how to talk about their baby, unsure of how to explain their grief, and unsure of who will truly understand.

Grief after pregnancy or infant loss is complex. It can bring waves of sadness, anger, guilt, anxiety, and even loneliness in rooms full of people. Some parents feel pressure to “move on.” Others feel like their baby is forgotten. Relationships can feel strained, and milestones or anniversaries can reopen deep wounds.

You are not alone in those feelings.

Holding Hope is a safe, compassionate space where your story is honored, your baby is remembered, and your grief is understood. Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, your experience matters. There is no timeline for healing, and you deserve support along the way.

We are so excited to introduce Janis, as our incredible FEMM instructor! Janis brings over 40 years of nursing experience to FEMM and a deep passion for educating and supporting women. She earned her BSN from Minot State University in 1986, her Master’s in Nursing Education from UND in 1995, and completed her Family Nurse Practitioner specialization in 1999, becoming a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.

Throughout her career, Janis has served patients across North Dakota in a variety of settings:
• Surgical floor and ICU at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Minot
• Rural clinics in Bottineau, Hettinger, and Dickinson
• The VA and Sanford Health

In addition to her clinical work, Janis spent 10 years as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Dickinson State University, teaching in the BSN program and shaping the next generation of nurses.

Janis started working at Dakota Hope in 2024 but was a volunteer client advocate here for two years before that. Her depth of knowledge, heart for patient care, and passion for women’s health make her an incredible resource for women learning about their bodies through FEMM.

If you’re interested in learning more about FEMM classes, we’d love to connect with you! Reach out today so schedule an appointment.
