🎡 The North Dakota State Fair kicks off today—and while you're lining up for mini donuts and getting ready for Bailey Zimmerman to take the stage, our Environmental Health team has been hard at work behind the scenes!

They’re inspecting 70+ food vendors to make sure:
✔️ Proper licenses are in place
✔️ Food is stored and served safely
✔️ All staff have completed food service training
✔️ Only approved, safe food sources are used

No rock and a hard place here—just good food, safely served.
Big thanks to our team for making sure the fair is fun, safe, and delicious! 👏

Underage drinking doesn’t always start with teens—it often involves someone else making alcohol available. Whether it’s a fake ID, a handoff, or just not asking questions, it can lead to:

đź’¸ Fines up to $3,000
đźš” Possible jail time
đź“„ A criminal record
🎓 Lost scholarships and/or job oppourtunities

Fake IDs, buying for minors, or just “looking the other way” can have serious consequences. Let’s keep the fair fun and safe for everyone. Know the risks. Talk to your teen. Make smart choices.

The fair can be a fun and exciting place for teens—but without a little guidance, it’s easy for them to get caught up in situations they’re not ready for.

Before they go, take a few minutes to chat:
-Who are they going with?
-What time are they coming home?
-What’s the plan if something doesn’t feel right?
-What are your rules/expectations?

A quick conversation now can make a big difference later.
Let’s help our teens stay safe and have fun at the fair!🎡

Keeping alcohol out of kids' hands starts at home. As kids grow, curiosity and access can change—your safety steps should too.
✔️ Store it up high when they’re little to keep it out of sight and reach.
đź”’ Lock it up as they get older.
👀 Monitor what you have so you’ll notice if anything’s missing or tampered with.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
