Today the North Dakota State Genealogical Society toured the Germans from Russia library in Bismarck. The library is located at 1125 West Turnpike Avenue in Bismarck. Three members of Mouse River Loop Genealogical Society participated in the tour and stayed for the meeting of the ND State Genealogical Society.

It is with sadness we learned of the death of Carol Schwan. Carol was a charter member of the Mouse River Loop Genealogy Society, joining in 1978 and maintained her membership until the time of her death. She did considerable work in organizing our archives and maintaining them. She was a past president of our organization and also served as recording secretary at one time. She was always a cheerful member, sharing kind words, encouragement and wonderful accounts of her ancestors. Bless the memory of Carol (Effertz) Schwan.
