As much as we lament the decision to end the Hostfest, we need to remember to support the Swedish Midsommar Fest held every June at the Scandinavian Heritage Park. That celebration has grown from a potluck supper in the park by the Swedish Club to a three day all Scandinavian celebration. We need to support it so it doesn't come to an end. Those that plan this event have done an outstanding job and are certainly in touch with the local people's interest. Plan to attend the festival this summer.

Not everyone descends from the Pilgrims but Thanksgiving is a time to remember all our ancestors with thankful hearts. The Mouse River Loop Genealogical Society wishes all our friends a wonderful Thanksgiving.

We had only ten for our ethnic holiday dinner this year, but the food was delicious and the conversation wonderful. We dined on Swedish, German, Norwegian and English dishes.
