MDD Nutrition At MDD Nutrition, our Dietitians will provide a personalized approach to meet your nutrition goals! Welcome! Some people will need more time, some less.

We are glad you have made the decision to improve your health through your nutrition. Please be patient with yourself and understand that effective lifestyle change and establishing new habits takes time. Evidence-based medicine shows a 6 month commitment is needed to shape new behaviors. That is the nature of personal nutrition and behavioral change. Everyone is different and has different needs. Whatever your nutritional needs and goals are, that is what your personal RD (registered dietitian) will focus on. At MDD, you will be coached and educated on how and what to eat based on your personal eating habits, likes and dislikes. If you're committed; we're committed. That is our pledge to you!

5 Pre-Thanksgiving tips to manage your blood sugar!

1. Eat the stuffing, potatoes and all the DELISH starches after some bites of protein and veggies!
2. Plan for your feast earlier in the day! Insulin resistance is increased with later night eating...
3. Enjoy a balanced breakfast/snacks based on protein, fiber leading up the meal to avoid overeating
4. Plan for some exercise on the "big day" such as post meal walk which will not only improve digestion but reduce your sugars!
5. Get clarity for your carb counts. See below carb content of favorite Thanksgiving food!

COFFEE AND LIVER HEALTH- Good news! Did you know that drinking coffee may benefit liver health by potentially lowering the risk of liver scarring, fatty liver disease, and liver cancer?? The protective effects are linked to coffee's components, such as caffeine and polyphenols, which can reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the liver. To maximize benefits, drink coffee black or with minimal sugar and plant-based alternatives, but consult a doctor about safe caffeine limits, especially during pregnancy.

Cash Register Receipts and Weight Loss??? Whats the Link??
Did you know that cash register receipts are often printed on thermal paper, commonly contain bisphenol A (BPA) or bisphenol S (BPS), which can be absorbed through the skin is considered an obesogen! Obesogens contribuite to weight gain and obesity. Even worse is the link to health issues such as hormone disruption, and potentially cancer. SAY NO TO YOUR RECEIPT IF DONT NEED :)
