Dr. Sandra Franco and St. Thomas University have entered into a strategic partnership to advance innovation in sports performance, injury prevention, and athlete recovery.
Dr. Franco is integrating Erchonia Corporation's FX 635 cold laser system into her work with STU Bobcat Athletics as an evidence-informed approach to help student-athletes recover efficiently and maintain peak physical readiness throughout the demands of collegiate competition. By targeting areas of microtrauma and overuse early, the technology can support tissue repair and musculoskeletal resilience before discomfort progresses into injuries that affect performance or participation. As part of this initiative, Dr. Franco will also develop a Cold Laser Research Lab and a Biomechanics Lab at STU, focused on injury prevention, treatment, and enhancing student-athlete performance.
This partnership will also support first-in-kind clinical research exploring new approaches in high-level injury prevention and performance optimization.
Exciting developments ahead for sports medicine, research, and Bobcat Athletics!
