Complex problems don’t always need complex solutions…

There’s depth to movement, biomechanics, and motor learning, but that doesn’t mean the drills or methods need to look complicated.

When it comes to youth training, it starts with fun, engagement, and sustainability. Early exposure should build intrinsic motivation, so training becomes something they want to do, not something they’re forced to do.

That’s why the best early “training” often looks like play. If we can hide skill development inside tag, dodgeball, races, or games, we’re already setting the foundation for coordination, speed, and strength to develop naturally.

This is exactly the approach I took with PlayStrong, a 12-week youth athletic development program that blends science with practical, fun methods to help kids move better, jump higher, and stay active for life.

How cool is this? Remember when the South Bend Police Department shared about Madilyn designing a patch for her cousin SBPD Officer Travis Kukla? Madilyn got to see her artwork up close & personal!
