Today's Artistic Endeavor, a winter wonderland-themed snowglobe, was the perfect way to brighten up a chilly January day. The residents were also treated to a rejuvenating Aromatherapy lavender paraffin hand dip, designed to nourish and hydrate. This was followed by a lively happy hour, complete with light refreshments, music, and engaging conversation.

What an incredible day we shared! Our Passport Adventure to Hawaii was a vibrant celebration of aloha spirit, complete with fresh pineapple, white chocolate macadamian nut cookies, and a warm welcome with traditional Hawaiian Leis. Afterwards, we came together to honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, sharing stories, warm conversation, and delicious cornbread with homemade "peace" soup, a recipe for friendship. We watched an inspiring documentary and engaged in a creative expression of unity, crafting a heartfelt collage that proclaimed: 'Love Comes in All Different Colors.'

Every month, Robin and Q host a Forever Learning Club meeting that sparks excitement and curiosity, and February promises to be a remarkable adventure of discovery, growth, and joy. Robin empowers everyone to live mindfully, appreciate the present, and uncover inner peace and happiness. Our residents feel truly seen, heard, and valued. And, as a fun bonus, Friday was spirit day, where everyone wore their comfiest sweats and slippers.

Our S'mores & More gathering with Girl Scout, Brownie, and Daisy Troop 56001 friends was a heartwarming celebration that uplifted our residents' spirits. Featuring homemade chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese paninis, engaging games, and meaningful friendship bracelet-making, this intergenerational event embodied the transformative power of connection and community. I was unable to get photos today but helped our life enrichment director during happy hour! Cherry ice cream sodas, root beer floats and banana splits! Was a huge turnout and loved seeing them all come together, listen to the oldies music and mingle! Thank you Robin Sommers for including me today!

Witnessing the vibrant excitement of feeding and attracting winter birds to our feeders with Assistant Q was a truly heartwarming experience. They crafted innovative bird feeders using pinecone, peanut butter, and wild bird seed, and even made gelatin-based feeders in fun shapes with cookie cutters. The residents had so much fun! Can you spot something out of the ordinary in a few pictures?

Today's captivating Passport Adventure to Rome, Florence, Pisa, and Venice, Italy, set the tone for an unforgettable journey. As we boarded, the sweet sounds of Italian music filled the air, accompanied by rich Italian sweet cream cappuccino and decadent chocolate-covered almond biscotti. The experience was further enriched by a fun trivia session and heartfelt sharing from residents who reflected on their own cherished memories of visiting these destinations with loved ones.

Thank you for getting Hellenic Senior Living of Mishawaka up and running so quickly! Yes we were affected but the staff jumped into action to check on our residents. Due to the kitchen out of power we ordered pizza for the residents. All turned out fine.

Mishawaka Utilities is working to restore electricity.
