Legacy Medical Academy

Legacy Medical Academy Legacy CNA Training was formally known as Michiana Healthcare Training which was owned by Mary Lou Fewell, Dorothy Ball and Karalee Eltzroth.

We offer CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) classes for both adult and high school learners, along with QMA (Qualified Medication Aide) & Insulin courses for adult learners They started Michiana Healthcare Training in 2000. MHT took pride in developing a well respected Certified Nursing Assistant Training company in Northern Indiana. In 2013 two of MHT owners decided to retire and Legacy CNA Training was born. And with many of the same instructors from Michiana Healthcare Training the pride and compassion still lives thru Legacy CNA Training.

Congratulations on CNA # 201 you were and AWESOME class. :)

Shout out to New Prairie High School Pre-Nursing students for being awesome!

What a special day at Hamilton Grove! 💙

We recently celebrated our Team Member Service Awards, recognizing the incredible staff who make our community such a warm and caring place to call home. 🌟 Their dedication and compassion truly make all the difference for our residents — thank you for everything you do! 🙏

We also had the pleasure of welcoming New Prairie High School students to our campus. Their energy and enthusiasm brought so many smiles — what a joy to have them with us! 💐

Thank you Mrs. Rohena for arranging time for Legacy students at Concord to attend the Goshen College Nursing and Public Health Career Day. It's extra effort to make a field trip happen and we are grateful Legacy students could attend this 'sold out' event! These students in the Pre-Nursing pathway are lucky!

Students had the opportunity to explore programs at Goshen College through engagement with faculty and students. Their visit included touring the campus and enjoying hands-on activities. A perfect opportunity for students to learn more about local opportunities available to them after high school.

Thank you Goshen College!

This morning kicked off with a fun and interactive experience at the P-H-M Education Foundation College & Career Fair at Penn High School in Mishawaka. Juniors & seniors with great questions and motivation to be the future of Hoosier healthcare!

We are excited to launch the Pre-Nursing Pathway at Penn High School next school year and look forward to these juniors achieve their first step in healthcare. We also met with many seniors who have plans to pursue a career after high school and encouraged them to enroll in our adult classes this summer.

There are many amazing opportunities in our community and we are proud to support students who have a future in healthcare.

Thank you to our Nurse Instructor Jen D. for spending the morning with us ♥

Legacy CNA students at Mishawaka High School recently completed their BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR certification. They all did a great job learning a new ventilation skill and had some great questions at AEDs in schools ♥ Great job Cavemen!

Thank you to Northwest Indiana Area Health Education Center for your support of our student.

We were honored to attend the 2025 Mass CPR Training for 8th graders from South Bend Community Schools and School City of Mishawaka.

This event takes a village of volunteers, organizers and supporters to provide CPR training to such a large number of students. In addition to learning the skill of CPR, students also heard the impactful story of how staff at New Prairie Middle School put their CPR and AED knowledge to test when a parent collapsed from sudden cardiac arrest in the parking lot. This save was a direct result of staff practicing how to respond to a cardiac emergency. When the time came, they knew EXACTLY what to do! True heros 💙💛

New Prairie United School Corporation has made a commitment to creating a heart safe corporation. This means that all of their schools have established, and maintained, a standard of cardiac preparedness and are designated as Project ADAM Heart Safe schools.

Is your school/community center/ youth sports league prepared to respond to a cardiac emergency? To learn more , contact Project ADAM- Indiana at projectadam@iuhealth.org

The Fort Wayne Nurses' Ball is a non-profit organization that honors area healthcare providers and raises funds to support nurse scholarships. Senior1Care is a proud community sponsor of this event.

Senior1Care & Legacy Medical Academy staff attended this event alongside CNA students who recently earned their license 💕 It was a night to celebrate, honor, and support our current and future nurses.
