Karnapali

Translation: known as daiva
kurta chidra = fortunate,
point to pierce, karna = ear,
pali = lobule

Location: at central part of lower ear lobule

Action: benefits eyes & vision, relieves headache, relieves ear
congestion, calms hyperactive mind, relieves stress.

Indications: eye disorders: blurry vision, poor eyesight;
migraines, headaches- periorbital, temporal; ear disorders, tinnitus; hyperactive mind, ADHD, vertigo, stress, anxiety, ungrounded

There is a tenderness to the postpartum window that so often goes unmet. And yet, many mothers move through this time without that depth of care.

In the recent Sacred Window Podcast conversation, we sat with Seva Van Why—an Ayurvedic practitioner, educator, and guide who has devoted more than two decades to living and sharing this work in a deeply embodied way. Her path began in the early 90s with daily immersion at an Ayurvedic Wellness Center as staff, and over the years, she has woven together clinical practice, teaching, and community care with a rare steadiness and integrity.

Translation: root of ear, karna =
ear, mula = root

Location: 2 points behind ear.

Karnamula 1- depression between tip of mastoid process and posterior margin of ramus of mandible.

Karnamula 2- depression at
posterior aspect of mastoid process

Action: benefits facial nerves, relieves pain & headaches, enhances kidney function.

Indications: ear disorders including earaches, tinnitus, poor hearing; facial paralysis, TMJ pain, trigeminal neuralgia, toothache, headaches (periorbital, suboccipital), vertigo, neck tension

Translation: kapola = cheek,
madhya = middle

Location: depression on cheek
felt when teeth clenched. At
midpoint of anterior border of
masseter muscle.

Action: regulates salivary secretion, kindles agni & promotes
digestion, improves absorption & assimilation in colon, stimulates
parotid gland, relieves local pain, improves color & complexion.

Indications: Excessive salivation, toothaches, malabsorption,
colon disorders- pain, loose stools, ulcerative colitis, ear
disorders, facial paralysis, trigeminal neuralgia, TMJ pain.
