Wishing our hygienist Chris a very Happy Retirement!

Special message from Chris:
I am truly grateful to have spent my career doing work I genuinely loved. As I step into the next chapter of my life, I do so with a full and thankful heart.

I have been part of the dental field for 40 years—beginning as a dental receptionist and assistant for four years followed by 36 years at Mishicot Dental as a dental hygienist. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of working with three exceptional doctors—Dr. Ron Lese, Dr. Jason Thiel, and Dr. Erin Lasslo—each leaves a lasting impact on my journey.

I am deeply thankful for the four decades filled with meaningful connections and memories. Many of you have been part of my journey—and I have been part of yours. We’ve shared recipes and restaurants, travel tips, family stories, advice, and genuine care for one another’s lives. From laughter to hugs to tears, these moments will stay in my heart forever.

To my past and present coworkers, thank you for your support, teamwork, and all the laughter we shared along the way.

As I continue into this next chapter, I look forward to spending more time with my wonderful family. I will always cherish my years as a dental hygienist.

God bless you all. I am forever grateful. May you always have many reasons to smile.

April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month, promoted by the ADA and partners to emphasize early detection through screenings, as survival rates significantly improve when caught early. Dentists perform screenings, educate patients on risks and watch for symptoms like persistent sores, red/white patches, or swallowing difficulties.

-Early "Toothpaste" was Used in 5000 BC: The ancient Egyptians invented a dental powder consisting of ox hooves, ash, myrrh, pumice, and eggshells.
-Mass Production Started with Colgate: In 1873, Colgate was the first company to sell toothpaste in a jar
-Baking Soda is Gentle on Teeth: Baking soda, a common ingredient, has a hardness of 2.5 on the Mohs scale, while enamel is 5, making it an effective, gentle cleaner.
-You Shouldn't Always Rinse: To let the fluoride "work its magic," it is recommended to not rinse your mouth out immediately after brushing.
