What we need?
-Parents + Babies (less than 12 weeks)
-Baby must be able to take a bottle
-Must be comfortable + willing to bottle feed on camera for photos + videos

Date:
Available on either July 29, 30, or 31 for about 1 hour

3 things we would NEVER say as Board Certified Lactation Consultants….

🚫 “Just keep trying because it shouldn’t hurt”: Pain is a signal, not something to push through. If feeding hurts, there’s a reason. Let’s figure it out and create a manageable plan in the meantime.

🚫 “You’re doing it wrong”: Every parent and baby is unique. We offer guidance, not judgement! You deserve support, not shame.

🚫 “If you give a bottle, you’ll mess up breastfeeding”: Feeding is never all or nothing. There are always ways to use a bottle while still protecting your breastfeeding goals, and your mental health! We are happy to help you create a plan to manage both!

📣 Insurance Update for Lactation Support!

We want to keep you in the loop! 🔁

Starting July 14th, there are some changes with The Lactation Network (TLN) that may affect your ability to get pre-approved for lactation visit coverage, specially for Anthem, Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans.

We know - this is awful news. We are beyond frustrated too!

But here’s the good news:
✅ The Breastfeeding Center of Orange County is still accepting many Aetna and Cigna with in-network billing.
✅ We continue to accept approved TLN plans - mostly United Healthcare, Sutter Health, First Health and plans with PNOA or MultiPlan partnerships.

📝 What you need to know:
• Anthem, Blue Cross and Blue Shield policy holders should apply for converage using our insurance verification TLN link ASAP prior to July 14th for possible pre-approval.
• URGE your insurance provider to offer contracts directly with IBCLCs so we don’t have to rely on a “middle man” and can offer direct in-network coverage!
• Aetna and Cigna - no changes for you at this time.
• United - TLN is still covering post of these plans.
-Not Covered? Ask about our self pay options!
