A "Culture of Caring" will be the heart and soul of the 449 Recovery Center. It is rooted in an ethical standard in treatment that was once practiced and should be again: how people are treated during a visit to the Recovery Center is as important as the loving care that they receive. Those who will come to our Center are good people in need of help. Though some of them are surviving on limited r
esources, they often exhibit great courage simply trying to get through each day. Our “Culture of Caring” will recognize the strengths of those in need and respect their dignity. We will seek to heal not only the disease, but also the injury caused by bias, prejudice and indifference. The “Culture of Caring” concept is summarized by the following vision statement which has guided the “Board of Directors to establish this Center. “We will open our eyes to see those that are discarded, open our hearts to feel the pain some want to hide and reach out our arms to let them know that they are not alone. In doing this we hope to change a life, one choice and one day at a time, and in the in the process, heal ourselves.” Policies and procedures for implementing and maintaining the "Culture of Caring" will be established as a required component of our Center. It is essentially a two-part philosophy: The first is the belief that healing begins with a word at the door or over the phone to invite him or her in, take an interest in their life and give them the dignity and respect that often has not been shown elsewhere. The second is the recognition that perhaps the greatest healing ultimately does not go to the people who come to the Center, but instead to the families whos’ lives are changed. So no one is left behind to cry themselves to despair. In building this center we aim to create something that simply does not exists in this world. Services Provided: The Clinic will provide a structured program to patients who are in need of finding a real solution to overcoming an addiction. This program will be offered on location as well as in-patient and online. We will be developing a proprietary online technology to allow our program to be used by any person across the globe. Benefits of to the Community: Such benefits include a reduction in the inappropriate use of hospital emergency rooms, a healthier community workforce, and an improved quality of life for our residents. In addition, our volunteers will experience a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment in having provided essential services to fellow community citizens in a caring environment
