Complete fan girl moment! I absolutely love reading, and I read several different genres of books. But, there are some authors that I have to read all of their books. is one of those authors. I was so fortunate to meet him and listen to him discuss his newest book, “Twice”. It was magical, and he was even kinder than I could have ever imagined. I thanked him for writing the books he’s written, and I let him know how inspiring the books have been for me (Tuesdays with Morrie, Have a Little Faith, The Stranger in the Lifeboat, and more). Then I told him what I do and that I recommend his books to those I work with. I wasn’t prepared for his response - he thanked me for what I do, let me know how important my job is, and that mental healthcare is essential. I was enamored that someone with a huge line of fans would take time out to thank me for something I’ve done for years. Can you imagine if everyone would be grateful for each other?
(And I’m almost finished with his new book. I had to start it the minute I got home!)

Great news!!! I passed my comprehensive exam and now I am moving on to dissertation next month! I have been extremely busy with work and school, which is why I haven’t posted as much as I would like. This is a big moment because I am one step closer to being a licensed clinical psychologist. I have a doctorate in behavioral health, so this will strengthen my work as I move forward. Let’s all celebrate!

I saw this feeling wheel on another social media post a while back and wish I would have saved the page because this is an amazing find. I work with many individuals that are ADHD, Autistic, or both and they are not always able to state their emotions. This wheel helps break down the emotion into their originating emotion. I hope this helps someone else as much as it’s helped those I work with!

Should I post my favorite books? Anyone who knows me, knows I love books! Books are my favorite thing to do (shop, read, share, talk about). This is an excellent book for several reasons. It’s a great journal with prompts that keep you thinking and reflecting. It also has solutions that can be utilized when anxiety creeps in. I highly recommend it! Thanks to the one that recommended it to me!

Anyone else come home to a new friend?

I’m all about new friends and hanging out, but sometimes it can be scary making new friends. Sometimes, new friends aren’t like old friends, or just not a good match. All of those things are okay! Friends come in many forms; close friends, acquaintance friends, school friends, and forever friends. And then there are those friends that you may want to skip all together. This was one of those friends. He was fascinating to watch from a distance, but not someone I wanted to hangout with it!

This is real life! Who has had the flu this year? What works to get over it? I’ve been trying to drink a ton of fluids, I’ve been able to keep my fever down, but I still feel terrible. I have the bodyaches, sore throat, cough, stuffy/runny nose, and I could use all the best home remedies! send them my way!
