Tiwahe Glu Kini Pi "Bringing the Family Back to Life" To enhance mental health services for children and their families using Lakota cultural practices, contemporary counseling and equine therapy.

SGU Tiwahe Glu Kini Pi System of Care program is here to improve the lives and conditions of children and families suffering with Serious Emotional Behavioral Disturbances. Develop a counseling center that will partner with all other child and family serving programs and increase mental health services on the Rosebud reservation. Tiwahe Glu Kini Pi serves children, ages 3-21, and their families who live within the 5 county area of the Sicangu reservation.

We’re looking for 4 teens from Horse Creek and 4 teens from He Dog/Parmelee who want to attend Horse Handler Training Camp, teens who complete training camp may be hired for 8 weeks at the SGU TGKP Horse Ranch. This camp is especially for teens who want to have a ranch or farm someday! Please read below for more information, you can stop in at the TGKP office to pick up an application. Saturday April 18th, 2026 we’ll be making our annual journey to Pe Sla for an annual renewal ceremony. Its purpose is to wipe the tears of loss and prepare creation for new life. Pe Sla translates to “Bald Spot” and is located in He Sapa (the Black Hills)

We will meet in Hill City, SD at 11am MT at the Exxon gas station and caravan to the site. Please observe the teachings of the pipe and please do not bring animals/pets.

Trauma-Informed Parenting presentation by Charisse Bordeaux, LPC, NCC, QMHP at the St Francis Community Building on March 19th from 5-8:30pm ❣️❣️

This session will help parents and caregivers understand how trauma affects children’s emotions, behavior, and development. Families will learn practical trauma-informed strategies they can use at home to support children’s emotional regulation, relationships, and decision-making, while connecting these ideas to Lakota values and community strengths. Families will also receive a resource folder with tools and information they can continue using at home.

There will also be a meal, door-prizes and a vision board making activity ❤️ feel free to pass this flyer along and we’ll see you there ❣️✨

Next Thursday, February 12th, 2026 we will be hosting a Cante Skuya Kahomni (Sweet Heart/Valentines Day Round Dance) from 5:30-8:00pm at the SGU Wakinyan Wanbli Multipurpose Student Center ✨💖 All are welcome! Wear your ribbon skirts and shirts if you have them but they are not required. We will have dinner starting at 5:30 and different contests and specials will be announced throughout the night. All are welcome this Friday, February 6th, 2026 to come harvest cansasa. We’ll meet on the SGU Main Campus on the road to the right of the library that goes down to the greenhouse. We will harvest the cansasa and go to the TGKP office on the SGU Antelope Lake Campus to work on them and lunch will be provided. Please wear appropriate shoe/boots and please follow Lakota protocol. If you have cutting tools we kindly ask you to bring them as well, if you don’t we will have a few people can use!
