We’re proud to partner with Johnson County Developmental Supports - JCDS through our Community Behavioral Health Team (CBHT)! 💚

The CBHT provides positive behavioral supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who also have a co-occurring mental health diagnosis. Through case management, therapy, and collaboration with families and support networks, the team helps individuals learn coping skills, overcome barriers, and live, work, and participate as fully integrated members of our community.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often misunderstood as simply “liking things clean or organized,” but it’s far more complex than that. OCD involves intrusive thoughts, fear, doubt, and repetitive behaviors that can significantly impact daily life.

During OCD Awareness Week (October 12–18, 2025), we join others around the world in raising awareness, challenging misconceptions, and supporting those living with OCD. 💙

Therapy terms like gaslighting, boundaries, and triggered are everywhere these days — but when mental health language becomes buzzwords, it can lose its meaning and cause harm. 🧠

October 15 is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day. 💗💙

Experiences of loss vary for each individual and family. The impact can include depression, anxiety, changes in relationships, unhealthy coping mechanisms, and post-traumatic stress. Too often, these effects are underestimated, misunderstood, or overlooked — even by well-meaning health care professionals, friends, and family members.

Today, we honor the babies gone too soon and the parents and families who carry their memories with love and grief. You are not alone. Support, understanding, and healing are possible.

📞 If you or someone you know needs support, call us 24/7 at 913-268-0156 or call, text, or chat 988 for free, confidential help anytime.

In a world that often feels fast and uncertain, kindness remains one of the most powerful things we can offer each other. Here are some reasons kindness matters more than ever:

1️⃣ The world moves faster than our hearts can process. A little gentleness helps slow things down.

2️⃣ Everyone’s carrying something unseen—kindness honors what we can’t see: exhaustion, grief, fear, and stress.

3️⃣ The next generation is watching. How we treat each other teaches more than anything we say.

4️⃣ Systems can fail, but people don’t have to. In uncertain times, kindness is something we still control.

Let’s choose kindness—it’s one of the simplest ways to make the world softer for everyone. 💫

Earlier this month, more than 100 students from 18 Johnson County schools came together for our annual Youth Leadership Summit (YLS)! 💡

The Youth Leadership Summit is where inspiration, motivation, activism, and change begin. Designed for middle and high school students, YLS empowers youth to grow as leaders and create positive change in their schools and communities.

Through workshops, presentations, and collaboration, students and adult sponsors built action plans to prevent underage alcohol and drug use, promote mental health, prevent su***de, and encourage healthy behaviors.

By the end of the summit, participants left with new tools, new ideas, and new connections — ready to serve as catalysts for change in their schools and beyond. 🌟

🌿 Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day.

Observed each year on the second Monday in October, this day recognizes the sovereignty, resilience, and cultural heritage of Indigenous communities across the United States. Here in Kansas—and right here in Johnson County—we stand on the ancestral lands of Native nations, including the Kaw (Kanza), Osage, and others whose deep roots and vibrant traditions continue to shape our region.

We celebrate and honor the enduring contributions of Native peoples in preserving community, health, and identity—often in the face of adversity. Let’s uplift Indigenous voices, support mental well-being, and continue the work of healing and justice.
