The older I get, the less I feel the need to prove anything to anyone. Life has a way of softening our edges and showing us what truly matters. I look back now and see so many hours spent worrying about things that didn't have a soul, or people who didn't have a place in my future. It’s a humbling realization, but also a liberating one. I used to spend my afternoons staring at the horizon, dreaming of all the cities I’d visit and the life I’d build far away from here. But now, after all the miles traveled and the suitcases packed, I’ve realized that my heart has a permanent address. I’ve spent too many mornings letting the shadows of yesterday dim the brightness of today. But I’m finally learning that 'yesterday' has already had its turn. Today is a brand new gift, and I refuse to let an old mistake or a bad moment steal the sunshine from my heart right now. There is so much peace in simply saying 'let it go' and choosing to focus on the flowers at my feet rather than the clouds behind me.
