Last fall, I reached out to a few girlfriends and started an evening Women's Wednesday group. It led to a spring Yellowstone weekend full of outdoor adventures, games, puzzles and many laughs as some of us got to know each other. It's led to some Dram shop gatherings, some hikes and more. I've always known my soul needed nature and I've been an outdoor gal since I was very young. I really didn't need someone telling me that Forest Bathing would help me, but if that helps you get out there, more power to you! (Side note- getting out in nature actually helps on a cellular level, but more on that another time). I've also known that I need CONNECTION with friends! It's easy to crawl into my cozy bed with my soft fuzzy pup in the early evenings and zone out on a favorite show and not go out. We all have significant others, or family members to care for, work to catch up on, and chores, and easy to cope by avoiding the outings, but often we pull ourselves out and are able to take one evening a week to take care of us, to embrace and support each other. Social connection is critical to our mental well-being...studies show this! Both my Monday and Tuesday yoga classes have developed into some folks finding new social connections or some come together and it's their friend date. Aspen Grove wants to hear from you! We are looking to create some more activities such as game nights, free flowing dance groups, craft groups and more, possibly adding in some meal prep, "breaking bread together." What are your ideas and how can we support you finding some new connections? Maybe you teach a hobby and want to rent our space? We have rental spaces also that have been growing and thriving. Truly, share with us and let's build more connection and community in our Midtown center. Here's some photos from our last evening together in the magic of Balsam Root. It felt like we were in a Disney movie. I want that for you too. โค
