As 2025 comes to a close, I’m reflecting on my gratitude for you and everything you’ve brought into this space during this hellish year.

76 new humans.
180+ of you total.
770 appointments.
Tens of thousands of needles.
A lot of muscles.
A lot of hugs.
A lot of heart.

You brought laughs, tears, growth, pain, stories, openness, and deep dedication to yourselves and your wellbeing.

Thank you for being here. You *are* allbodies. This place is nothing without you showing up.

And as always… it’s an absolute fu***ng honor.

Why have just two toddlers when you can have three? Welcome to the family, Bruce. I wasn’t going to get a puppy but swipe to the last photo. This is what the posted. You can understand my dilemma. We don’t know his breed. Will he be 120lbs? It’ll be a surprise.

Just a few days in, but a whole lot of joy this sweet guy has brought our family.

Oh, the wisdom of metal season. In Chinese medicine, this season is about letting go — like the trees losing their leaves. Creating space for something new to emerge later on. Grief and loss are natural to this time of year. It’s a reminder that death is part of the cycle of life, as much as we may resist.

The connection to the Lungs (the organ of the metal element) reminds us to pay attention to our breath—how we take in life and how we release it. You can’t take another breath without letting go of the one you’re holding.

This season also invites clarity and simplicity. Metal is about precision, refinement, and structure. For me this shows up as a desire to clear out clutter, reorganize priorities, and honor boundaries.

Sometimes it feels hard to live in harmony with the seasons while there is so much going on outside of us. I try to remember that even the little things make a difference in our relationship with our bodies and the earth. Every moment of letting go, every intentional exhale, it all matters.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and with everything going on around us, it feels vital to pause and acknowledge it.

Mental health struggles are no stranger to me—I face them myself, I’ve lost a parent to them, and I work with incredible clients who confront them daily. When I reflect on the state of the world, I can’t help but think, *of course.*

One of the many things I cherish about Chinese Medicine is its recognition that the spirit is just as essential as any other part of the body. It offers a framework for deep listening, safe touch, and truly embodied care. How amazing is it that acupuncture includes points specifically for “regulating the spirit”? Points for fear, heartbreak, and grief. 😭✨

We are full, complex, beautiful beings living in a world of great turmoil. I am deeply grateful to this medicine for the solace it provides.

It was slow client weekend. Usually that would bum me out, but it was a weekend full of flower cutting and apple picking and family and friends and my heart is so happy. What a lovely place we get to call home.💛

A year without you.

I wish I could say that grief gets softer, less violent, scarred over on all the raw bits. But it doesn’t. I’ve just gotten better at taking it.

I am trying to do things this week that connect me to you. We built the world’s ugliest planter box. You would’ve been absolutely appalled but also had some funny spin on it. “Well Mare, you are not at risk for a planter box theft!” I can imagine you saying.

We’ll get a steak at The Depot for you. Take the kids to the river to throw rocks. I’ll do a workout class you would’ve been excited to hear all about. Stroll through the Farmer’s Market and wish you were holding one of the girls on your shoulders.

We miss you. So very much. On we go, one day at a time. I wish there were another choice.
