🤧 The plants are all popping up, and so are spring allergies! Are you ready for allergy season?

🌳 Come check out our extensive collection of allergy aids and histamine helpers! We have a large assortment of capsules, tinctures, teas, steams, essential oil blends and more to help you stay comfortable this pollen season.

💊 I’d like to specially highlight ✨Quercetin✨which is found in many of these supplements, either in the form of pure quercetin, or in our favorite form - nettles.

🌱 Nettles: not only are they a nutrient dense herb, but they are stellar at helping out with allergies because they are a natural antihistamine due to their quercetin content.

✨ Quercetin is the great representative of polyphenols (antioxidants). Its main natural sources in foods are vegetables such as onions, fruits, some herbs, tea, and wine. Quercetin inhibits the production and release of histamine and other allergic and inflammatory substances. What a cool way to tackle your allergies - and get in some great nutrients and antioxidants while you’re at it!

🌼 Come check us out at Meadowsweet to see what product be the best fit for you!

🤧Seasonal Allergies🤧

😖What a bummer! Sneezing, sniffles, sore throat, red
eyes, post nasal drip, fatigue, runny nose...

🌼 This thrilling symptom cascade is a result of an immune reaction to proteins in the environment (read: pollen)

⚔️ The immune system has identified an invader - a dangerous threat - and has triggered a histamine immune reaction that affects the mast cells, creating blood vessel expansion, itchy swollen tissues and extra mucus!

🌱 How can you help yourself using herbs? Glad you asked! We have so many cool herbal blends, along with quercetin - a flavonoid that calms the mast cells and decreases inflammation. Check out our post from earlier this spring highlighting some of our favorite allergy tools, including our newly-rebranded Clear Sinus Tea!

🫖 Clear Sinus Tea (previously Allergy Relief Tea) not only helps to clear sinuses, but also helps calm these mast cells, offering antinflammatory relief. We renamed this tea because it can be helpful any time you are experiencing swollen, inflamed tissues, or blocked/runny sinuses. Brew cold to best extract chlorophyll, quercetin, and preserve the soothing mucilage from the marshmallow and plantain. Bonus: it also tastes delicious!

Happy 🌎 Day!

📣 ((Sound on for slide two… Listen to the beautiful sounds of the Earth!))

☀️ Feeling grateful for all the life giving plants the world over that make that fresh clean air, hold the soil together, provide us with food and shelter, create shade and are homes to infinite animals, insects, fungi, bacteria and birds.

🙏 Grateful for all of our fellow humans who recognize what an amazing planet we have and that act like every day is Earth Day.

🍀 We are extremely lucky (some would say blessed) to be here now, even though it can be hard to feel that way sometimes.

🪴 At Meadowsweet, we take our responsibility as a business selling herbs very seriously. Our recycling, composting and bulk refill offering are only a part of our commitment. We have a stringent sustainability policy that directs us to use non-fad and non-exotic ingredients. We assess at-risk plants on a continual basis.

🥰 Remember: every single choice you make — what you eat, wear, drive, consume as entertainment — these all have a consequence. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with all the corporate and governmental environmental destruction going on but we can’t lose hope or give up.
There is good news happening too… you just have to look for it. Look for the helpers. ❤️

Announcement!!!🪾🧡🪱⚡️

Me with a cat on my shoulder again, here to tell you that I decided to create a Patreon. I have always felt discombobulated here on this platform, and it always felt weird sharing herbal information here.... or not sharing it.... it just all feels weird. Weird is fine and all, but I know that plenty of people do follow herbal pages because they are interested in learning about plants. I could never really find my voice here-- too many distractions.

I intend to use the space on patreon to share more information and resources I've gathered on the plant world over the last 13+ years of study. To make it worth it to paid members, I will be sharing some of my favorite herbal recipes, offering products for sale there that I don't sell or list elsewhere, and maybe even making videos??? Who knows-- the page will evolve as people join. But there will always be a base of sharing plant information, rooted in experience and knowledge from trusted herbalists- without ads and AI blasting us from all directions. Why? Because I think people need to reconnect with plants. Humans have always been deeply connected with the plant kingdom since the beginning of time, and the further we try and separate ourselves the more unhinged we all get (hence state of world).

If you have never subscribed to anyone on patreon, I recommend checking it out. I have been supporting a handful of artists I love on patreon for years and so far it feels pretty good over there.

I'm not getting rid of this page, just will use it more to share photos (most of plants of course), promote my events and other folks I love... and to direct y'all to patreon😘😎
Thanks for reading this far down, you are rare.
