A Little Apperciation to Start the Week!

Some of our awesome CMS team members rolled up their sleeves and put together over 100 snack-filled care packages for our partners at Probation and Parole — just a small way to say thank you for the long hours and longer days they’ve been putting in at Montana State Prison during the recent emergency.

Our Bozeman, Butte, Missoula, and Hamilton CMS crews have already made their deliveries (and might’ve “taste-tested” a few snacks along the way 😅). More deliveries are on the way this week!

We’re grateful for everyone’s hard work and teamwork — it’s what makes Montana strong. Montana Department of Corrections .

Impressive statewide teamwork in action. Thank you to everyone who stepped up to support Montana State Prison and the Department of Corrections through this incident. Thank you to everyone who step up! 👏🏼👏🏼

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Compliance Monitoring Systems honors and acknowledges that we live and work on the ancestral and unceded lands of Indigenous peoples.

In Montana, this includes the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, the Blackfeet Nation, the Crow (Apsáalooke) Tribe, the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, the Chippewa Cree, the Fort Belknap Assiniboine and Gros Ventre, the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux, and the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa, among others who have cared for this land since time immemorial.

We recognize that this land was never freely ceded and that Indigenous communities continue to experience the lasting effects of colonization and systemic injustice.

As an organization that works toward accountability and community-based support, we believe in honoring these truths and striving for systems rooted in respect, equity, and restoration.

Today and every day, we express gratitude to the original stewards of this land, and we reaffirm our commitment to listening, learning, and supporting Indigenous-led efforts that promote justice and healing.

🌿 We work on this land. We remember. We continue learning.

We are open during business hours today as we continue our work on this land with gratitude and respect.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – BE AWARE 🚨
We’ve seen a recent rise in scam phone calls in Montana, with scammers impersonating officials and demanding payments via Venmo, Cash App, or gift cards. These are red flags.
These scams are NOT legitimate and can be dangerous.
👉 What to look for with scam calls:
The caller claims to be from a government agency or law enforcement.
They pressure you to act immediately.
They request payment through apps like Venmo, Cash App, or ask for gift cards.
They may even spoof legitimate phone numbers to seem real.
💡 How to protect yourself:
Never send money via Venmo, Cash App, or gift cards to someone you don’t know personally.
Do not give out personal or financial information over the phone.
If you're unsure, hang up and call us directly using the official numbers listed on our website.
You can also make secure payments directly through our website.
✅ If you receive a suspicious call, verify before you pay. Scammers rely on urgency and fear — don’t fall for it.
📍 We’re working with local partners, including the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office if you’ve been targeted, report the incident to them.
Stay safe, stay aware — and always confirm before you pay. 💻📞
