From multiple surgeries to skiing on his 75th birthday — here’s how the Sapphire PT team made it possible for Steve:

“I had rotator cuff surgery because I fell onto my right shoulder at work. I did a complete tear on 2 tendons and a partial on 1 more. Back to PT.

John was awesome, as before, and Kelly, one of his interns, taught me some mental aspects of rehab from her experiences. I had been back to work for a few months, then, boom - March of 2024, super painful infection in my back hip.

It had been replaced in 2009, but it was metal on metal. The bone and metal had corroded badly. The procedure is called “hip revision surgery”. After a lot of antibiotics and 2 surgeries, and too much time using a walker, it was back to see John.

Recovery was very slow; I found it difficult to get one part of my body better without straining the other parts that were compensating for my weakness.

John is very patient and helped with all the issues that arose - Partial tears on other shoulder, knee that’s very mad, ankle that got twisted, etc.

So here is my update. I had my first ski ride on June 29, 2025. I’ve skied a lot since then, including my 75th birthday, better water this year. Doing deep water starts with both feet in and enjoying every ride with my family and friends.

Till next time.

Grip It, Hit It, and Rip It…

Thank you, John, and the crew of Sapphire Physical Therapy.”

Happy National Physical Therapy Day!

Today we celebrate the science, dedication, and care that goes into helping people move and feel their best.

Here are a few things you might not know about PT:

- Schooling for physical therapy now includes a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.

-PT isn’t just for injuries — it helps with balance, chronic pain, and even injury risk reduction.

-And yes — PT is for everyone, not just athletes! From kids to older adults, we help people at every stage of life.

We’re proud to support our community through evidence-based care and personalized treatment!

You’re doing everything right.

You’re moving your body.

You’re staying consistent.

But there’s always something.

A hip that nags during squats.
A shoulder that flares up mid-workout.
A back that tenses up after long drives.

And instead of building momentum, you’re constantly managing — modifying, resting, waiting, starting over.

If that sounds familiar, this post is for you.

Because pain that shifts from joint to joint isn’t just a string of bad luck.

It’s your body asking for help.

And with the right kind of support, you don’t have to keep pushing through it.

DM us what’s been bugging you lately — even if it feels small.

It might be the first clue to getting out of this cycle for good. 💪
