Today, we want to highlight one of our amazing team members and the great work they are doing, not only for our company, but more importantly for our clients.

Katelyn LeClaire, Branch Manager for our Tulsa, Oklahoma, location won the 2025 Breakthrough Award in the Personal Care Division!

“From the start, Katelyn came in with a hunger to know everything about our business right away. We were very honest with her from the interview about how crucial it was to see Tulsa grow in every area. She took as many trainings as she could, asked all the right questions, and put everyone's critiques to heart. She met with every caregiver one-on-one either in person or by phone, she worked diligently on gaining the trust of her admin team and contacted multiple VA contacts and Medicaid Case Managers to begin building relationships. She reviewed and audited dozens of client and employee files ensuring compliance with company and state regulations, and she never shied away from difficult conversations with her leaders and staff. I genuinely believe our Tulsa branch excelled because of her leadership and drive,” said Executive Director Rachel Arnold.

Thank you and congratulations, Katelyn, on all your accomplishments in 2025!

It's Day! We want to highlight our Lead Customer Service Manager Lakesha Darity, who is making a difference in Valdosta, Georgia! We love 🌟celebrating🌟 our wonderful team members who truly go above and beyond for their clients, communities, and fellow team members.

“During Lakesha’s interview I quickly recognized her resilience and determination. Having no prior experience in the healthcare field, she’s persevered through many trials by fire, has gained so much knowledge, and helped our business grow through accountability and consistency of herself, and by holding others to those same standards. When other roles have been vacant in the office, she has always been dependable and steps up, going above and beyond her own role to ensure our continued success. She has been recently promoted into a Lead CSM position, and I am excited to see where this new opportunity will take her,” said Branch Manager Christina Hayes.

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The aim of ALS awareness month is to raise awareness about ALS, gather support for those affected by this condition, and to encourage funding and research into a treatment or cure.

Being a caregiver for someone living with ALS isn’t easy. Often, you're so busy supporting your loved one that your own physical or mental health takes second priority. It’s important you get the support and assistance you need so you can
care for your loved one to the best of your abilities. We can help with respite and any additional care your loved one may need.

May is ; paying tribute to the people who care for more than two million veterans is an important part of supporting troops and military families. But for some, it's also about recognizing the work they do that qualifies them as caregivers even if they don't think of themselves that way.

They are spouses, parents, children, and relatives of the wounded veteran, but many coworkers, neighbors, and friends also take on responsibilities. They provide care and assistance, promoting faster recovery for their loved ones.

AWC also provides many services to our Veterans who need home care and extra care. If you, or you know a Veteran who needs support, we can help: https://nuvi.me/uu92ft

The theme for the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT) 2026 is “At the heart of democracy.” Developed through extensive consultations with regional and global LGBTQIA+ networks worldwide, the 2026 IDAHOBIT theme serves as a powerful reminder that the soil of truly democratic societies must be rich in meaningful equity and justice for all, fostering the flourishing of the entire community.

First celebrated in 2005, the Day has grown into a truly global community moment. Every year, individuals, organizations, and governments celebrate the day with initiatives, events, and campaigns in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ people, demanding action to ensure they can exercise their rights.
