Wonder why there will be a large increases to individual medical rates as of Jan 1? Here is one reason - The last two years, carriers were paying into an federal insurance fund that would compensate for large unexpected claims in order to help stabilize rates. apparently they won't be getting what they are owed from CMS.....87% less!

The government will pay the insurers $363 million — 13 percent of what they are entitled to.
