Our busy Optometry clinic is looking for a part-time receptionist/optometric tech who enjoys working with people in a clinic setting with the opportunity for a full-time position. Previous medical experience preferred, but we will train the right person. Duties would include, but not be limited to, patient scheduling, answering telephone calls, collecting payments, utilizing basic equipment for pretesting patients, and office care. Wages based on experience.

Our ideal candidate:
• Passionate about providing exceptional customer service in a small office setting
• Previous experience as front desk work in a medical, dental, optometry, or other healthcare practice
• Interest in training in other areas of the clinic
• Seeking the possibility of a long-term position

Did you know?

Studies suggest that 60% of people spend more than 8 hours a day in front of a digital device. This screen time exposes us to "blue-light" - a short wavelength, that along with hours of near focusing, can cause digital strain.

"Blue-light" has both positive and negative effects, but long-term exposure can impact near strain and disrupt our circadian rhythm (sleep-wake cycle). While the health affects of blue-light are still being determined and studied, it has been established that blue-light blocking glasses, along with a correct prescription, can reduce strain and provide better sleep.

Beginning Monday May 4th, we will be open and back to our regular clinic hours Monday through Saturday. We will be taking all precautionary measures based on CDC guidelines to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe healthcare environment. Scheduling will be done methodically to limit exposure between exams and enhance patient flow. We look forward to serving Missoula and surrounding communities once again!

Due to ongoing considerations with COVID-19, we will still be offering free contact lens shipping directly to patients that order a supply of lenses.

We will also be including complimentary retinal imaging/photography as part of the comprehensive exam. This imaging tool limits patient contact, and allows the doctors to examine the retina for any signs of conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, and much more.

We will be in the office from 8:30-10:30am this week if you would like to call to make an appointment. We will also be checking voice messages so we will return your call throughout the week to help schedule any appointments.

There has been some speculation that contact lens wear is not safe during the COVID-19 outbreak. This information is false. The American Optometric Association has reinforced that contact lenses are safe as long patients properly wear and care for the lenses.

When it comes to contact lens wear, the American Optometric Association and doctors of optometry want to reinforce that contact lenses are a safe and effective form of vision correction for millions of people. The AOA provides advice to ensure proper wear and care for contact lenses.

UPDATE AS OF April 1, 2020: In observation of CDC guidelines, recommendations from the President and from the American Optometric Association, we are extending our limited office hours in a continued attempt to help stop the spread of COVID-19. These limited hours will most likely extend through April, but we are assessing recommendations and guidelines weekly.

We will continue to be available in the office 8:30-10:30am Monday through Saturday answering phone calls, returning messages, ordering contact lenses, and to see urgent/emergent appointments.

To ensure our patients needs are still being met we will be doing the following:

1. CONTACT LENSES: If your prescription is still valid call and we will direct mail your order to you at no additional charge. If your prescription is expired, we can make arrangements to order you an emergency extension.

2. If you are having any EMERGENT VISION SYMPTOMS, we will make an appointment to see you. These symptoms can include, but not limited to, sudden blurry vision, pain, redness, or sensitivity to light, flashes or floaters, or any contact lens related issues.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you are having an eye emergency or if you have any questions or concerns. We will continue to check voice messages and return emails even outside the above mentioned hours throughout each week.

We now offer our patients the ability to order contact lenses online through our website!

Our first priority continues to be the health and safety of our employees, patients, and our broader community. We are continuing doing our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities by reducing our services to urgent/emergent eye care only until further notice. Although our physical offices hours are limited (8:30 - 10:30 AM), there will be someone checking voicemails to answer questions, place contact lens orders, schedule urgent/emergent patients, etc. by phone.
