Here are some details about the financial support provided by the United States to Israel since October 7, 2023 ¹ ² ³:
- President Joe Biden announced $100 million in “humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank” after the Israel-Hamas war broke out.
- Biden also requested $14.3 billion from Congress in aid for Israel, which was approved in April 2024.
- The aid package included $10.6 billion of assistance, including air and missile defense support, industrial base investments, and replenishment of depleted stockpiles for its crucial air defense missile systems.
- The package also included $3.7 billion for the State Department to strengthen Israel’s defense and enhance security around the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem.
- Congress also approved $9.2 billion for humanitarian assistance that included aid for Gazan civilians.
Note: I wish USA had spent a fraction of this $22 billions to promote peace between Palestinians and Israel and would have saved lives of more than 30000 people.
