Many of us lose that healthy cervical curve through repetitive use of electronics, poor posture, or even a whiplash injury. Our heads and shoulders shift forward, putting as much as 60 extra pounds of pressure on our necks, stressing the muscles in our necks and spinal discs, causing disc injuries and arthritis. 😵

This abnormal position is known as 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉 𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒌, a prevalent reason for neck pain.

Neck pain is frustrating enough, but things get dicey if it interferes with our ability to have a restful night's sleep. Interacting with a person who is in pain and exhausted is…scary. 👹

Patients always ask us about 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒔𝒍𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒌 𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒏, trying to keep that 👹 at bay.

No matter which exercise class we take, the instructor always yells the same thing: 𝑬𝑵𝑮𝑨𝑮𝑬 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑪𝑶𝑹𝑬! We’ll say it in a more normal tone: 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲.

Weak core muscles can lead to sudden back injuries, even during light activities. These three low back exercises will help to strengthen the muscles that stabilize the spine and maintain its healthy position.
