Hello, my name is Deborah Douglas. I am a STRESS Elimination Specialist (SES). You might wonder βWhat is a Stress Elimination Specialist? Well let me tell you. I help others help themselves to better health the natural way through the services and classes I offer at LifeArts ~ The Perfect Blend. With a client, I focus on 2 services and 2 classes which I feel everyone can benefit from so much. They are Reiki, Aromatherapy aka Essential Oil Therapy, Tai Chi and Yoga.
REIKI is a Japanese technique that helps with stress reduction and relaxation that's promotes healing. It was discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900βs. Reiki is administered by still hand placement on the body or slightly above. The word Rei means universal, higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness. Ki is life force. Reiki then is Universal life force or it can be defined as spiritually guided life energy. We all have this life force within us. If the life force is low or if there is a restriction in its flow, we are more likely to become ill. If the life force is high and flowing freely, we are less likely to become ill. Reiki is not a religion or affiliated with any religion. The energy of Reiki heals on all body levels ~ physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Reiki is totally positive and can never cause harm to any living thing. For a healthy person, Reiki relaxes and rejuvenates. It balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain and balances all chakras and energy fields. It clears and increases the flow of life force.
AROMATHERAPY aka ESSENTIAL OIL THERAPY is the blending of essential oils for a specific ailment, injury or emotional issue. These oils are very concentrated and a very small amount goes a long way. I have had great success with blending oils for my clients with arthritis, chronic neck, back or knee pain, during cold and flu season and clients with stress, anxiety and depression. Blends are made in a carrier oil such as jojoba wax, coconut or olive oil. Almost all essential oils are analgesic and anti-inflammatory. Some are antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal. The list of therapeutic properties goes on and on.
TAI CHI is an internal martial art and is considered a moving meditation. All the movements are done slowly and methodically. Tai chi has all the benefits of yoga except you do not have to get down on the floor. Although Tai Chi is a martial art and there are self-defense applications to all movements, in this class we only practice Tai Chi for its health benefits.
HATHA YOGA is a style of yoga that utilizes easy gentle stretches and asanas. The emphasis is on the breath. Yoga has so many benefits. It reduces stress, tension and anxiety, it keeps the body agile and full of vitality, it strengthens the bones and promotes balance, just to name a few. Yoga strengthens the body, sharpens the mind and grows the spirit keeping us healthy, wealthy and wise!
