This week, I had the privilege of supporting so many different people in my office…

One came in barely able to sit because of sciatic nerve pain.
Another was frustrated by stubborn hormone changes.
Someone else had been battling TMJ pain for years.
I even had conversations about liver detox, chronic subluxation patterns, anxiety, and that relentless “brain fog” that steals focus.

On the surface, these issues seem unrelated. But there’s a theme I see over and over again: inflammation.

10 Back-to-School Immune Facts Every Parent Should Know 🍎
Hey guys — you know the drill. First week back at school, the kids are all excited… and by week two, someone’s got the sniffles. Here’s why it happens and how we can help our families stay healthy. 💪✨

Why kids tend to get sick more after school starts:
1️⃣ Kids are suddenly around a lot more germs after a summer of smaller social circles.
2️⃣ Classrooms = close quarters, making it easy for viruses to spread.
3️⃣ Many germs can live on surfaces (desks, pencils, door handles) for hours.
4️⃣ The immune system needs constant “training” — new germs give it practice, but that can mean mild illness.
5️⃣ Stress, new routines, and less sleep can weaken immune defenses.

How to help protect them (and us!):
6️⃣ Prioritize sleep — school-aged kids need 9–11 hours a night.
7️⃣ Balanced diet — plenty of fruits, veggies, protein, and whole grains to fuel immune cells.
8️⃣ Hydration — water helps flush toxins and keep mucous membranes healthy (first defense against germs!).
9️⃣ Hand washing — especially before eating and after recess. Soap + 20 seconds = game changer.
🔟 Teach “catch your cough” habits — into the elbow, not the hands!

Extra mom tips:

Wipe down lunchboxes, water bottles, and backpacks weekly.
Remind kids to keep hands away from face/eyes/mouth.

Supplements can help fill nutritional gaps — things like vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc, elderberry, or probiotics can be great immune supporters when chosen and dosed correctly for kids.

If they do get sick, keep them home to prevent the “ping-pong” effect of germs.
