Missy's Liver Transplant Recovery This page serves as a way to keep people updated on the Fundraiser for Missy's Liver Transplant.

Missy will need a liver transplant and require 3-6 months off work.

It's been a couple weeks since an update on Missy.
Partly because I've also been recovering from my ACL surgery but also because I wanted to give her and her family time to adjust to being back home.

I texted Missy yesterday to check in in her.

She is settled at home. Her family is doing a great job of taking care of her. She is doing OK for the most part. She continues to have quite a bit of pain which is limiting her mobility and she is still weak from all the time in bed.

Medically, she is doing well and her team says there are NO signs of rejection. Praise God!

She has a LONG recovery ahead of her. Please continue to keep her in prayers as she has easily 2 more months!

Missy was able to come home today!

She says she's exhausted and sore but grateful to continue her recovery in the comfort of her own home!

Thank you to everybody who has donated, offered a prayer, or helped out her family in any way. It takes a village to get through something like this and Missy definitely has that village through all of you!!

Keep those prayers coming! Missy had improved labs today and if they stay normal tomorrow can go home! She still feels a little rough but I imagine that's expected after such a major surgery!

Please keep Missy in your prayers!!!

Her husband sends an update:

She is still in hospital and having some lab level issues as well as developed an ileus. She doesn't feel well today at all.

Please keep Missy in your prayers. While complications can arise from major surgeries like this, she is in the best possible place for her Transplant team to keep a close eye on everything and is a blessing she wasn't able to go home yesterday!

Specifically we ask prayers for:
Improved lab levels
Resolved ileus
Missy to feel better physically
Will to receive strength to continue supporting Missy

Update from Will, Missy's husband:

Missy's discharge from the hospital is postponed today. Her labs were a little off and she needs a blood transfusion today.

Keep those prayers coming! As eager as she probably is to come home, she is right where she needs to be under an excellent care team!

We will continue updates as we receive them from family and friends. THANK YOU to over 250 people following along on Missys liver Transplant journey!! She has so much support and love behind her!

Missy has texted a little update this evening!
She got up and walked a little and sat in a chair and she says it wasn't too bad, but would've been impossible yesterday!
Her jaundice is nearly gone and she has had NO itching!!
She's tolerating her anti rejection meds so far and everything looks good.
They are keeping an eye on her kidney since it's been a little sluggish since surgery but she only has one kidney so that is really expected after a major surgery like what she had!

Keep those prayers coming that she continues on a smooth recovery journey!! Please also keep the family that chose to donate in your prayers as well, that they have healing and support through their grief journey.

And if you feel led to donate, we are still raising funds. We are at 13K now!! She still could benefit from a few thousand more to ensure her living expenses, travel expenses, and medical expenses aren't a concern over the next 3 months.
Cashapp, venmo, gofundme, or PO box 70 Mitchell, IN.
Besides monetary donations, gas station gift cards, grocery store gift cards, Amazon gift cards, basic house items like laundry detergent, toilet paper, etc would all be wonderful gifts so that she doesn't have to spend money buying household staples.
