🦷At the Dental Care Center, we pride ourselves in comprehensive care. We treat you as we would treat our family. We value a variety of diagnostic tools, which incorporates x-rays.

🦷X-rays contain valuable information for our dentists to be able to give our patients the best overall care possible. X-rays allow us to have an insider view of the teeth to diagnose decay and periodontal disease as well as infections, cysts and more.

🦷Without x-rays, we would only be getting half the information. With X-rays, we are able to treat earlier and prevent infection/ disease much sooner.

🦷Over time, the digital technology of X-rays has skyrocketed and has become much more precise, fast, and efficient, which reduces the amount of radiation received. Though radiation is a concern, we take proper precautions, and make sure exposure is as low as possible.

🦷We like to check in with bite wing X-rays once a year, and do an overall view once every 5 years to ensure comprehensive care.

New year, new resolutions, new you! 🥳

This is the year to make your teeth part of your New Year’s resolutions. 😁

We’ve gathered our top teeth tips to help you keep your oral hygiene resolutions.
1. Night time😴  is the most important time to brush because we get a chance to remove all food debris and bacteria before going to bed. Our saliva naturally decreases during the night, and beings our saliva is a good buffer system for our teeth, we need to clean everything off our teeth to prevent bacteria from overgrowing.
2. Rinsing 💦after brushing is like wasting the ingredients in your toothpaste. Waiting 30 minutes after brushing to rinse is critical to let the ingredients in the toothpaste do its job.
3.Flossing is key 🔑 for ideal oral health. We can brush as much as we want but we are still missing 1/3 of the surface area of our teeth when we don’t floss. This gives decay- causing bacteria and periodontal bacteria a chance to grow and cause disease.
4. If you don’t want your teeth to move after orthodontic therapy, it is imperative to wear retainers the rest of your life at nighttime. 🦷
5.Aligned teeth are healthy teeth because they are easier to clean. When your teeth have the correct bite, you can chew better.

Happy new year and cheers to better teeth 🤩

At the Dental Care Center, we offer a variety of ways to enhance the whiteness of your teeth. 😁

🦷The way we like to start the whitening process is by starting conservatively. Moving up in terms of level of whiteness starts with toothpaste and ends with in-office whitening. The range varies in cost and effectiveness.

🦷Ideas to consider for whitening:
1. Everyone is different in terms of how white their teeth can get.
If you start with level one and want your teeth whiter, then move to level two and so on.
2. Staining food and drink hinders the whitening process. Try to drink through a straw and avoid staining foods.
3. The whitening process can bring about sensitivity. Using a high quality toothpaste like or can help alleviate sensitivity.
4. Whitening is a trial and error process, it also ebbs and flows. One product may work great for some people and not for others. That is why we offer a variety of products to suit our patients needs.
5. Some people’s teeth might stay white for a long time and others may need to do maintenance more frequently.

What is baby led weaning? How does what my baby eats, impact their oral health?

Baby-led weaning is a way to introduce solids to a 6+ month old baby. This method of eating involves giving the baby strips of solid food to explore and eat.

Baby-led weaning helps with discovery of texture, smell, taste, spacial awareness of food, swallowing, gravity and tactile sensations. But most importantly, it allows the child to chew.

Chewing is SO important for a developing baby because the forces of chewing help to grow and expand the jaw and airway.

Expansion of the jaw and airway sets the baby up for enough space in the mouth for their teeth to erupt in the proper position and for open airways to allow for nasal breathing.

This then sets them up for success as they grow because they are getting proper oxygenation which helps with energy, sleep, school, play/ sports etc. AND, it helps orthodontically because their teeth are now easier to clean since they aren’t crowded and they have proper bite which reduces wear and recession later on in life.

Baby-led weaning is a lost art, finding its way back to the surface.

TIPS: If you are wanting to learn more, definitely do your research. It is an incredible skill to give your child. It is a learning experience for both baby and parent. The baby is learning swallowing and chewing, which may involve gagging or slight choking at first. Some of that is okay because they are learning. It is important that the parent know CPR and how to help a truly choking baby. But know, they will master this skill quickly and before you know it they are eating with ease.

It’s Monday, and that means 🥳🤩

Today we are introducing Jen, our go to substitute hygienist. She is there for us when we need her to fill in, in case our hygienist’s are sick or out on maternity leave.

Jen came into the dental field with a passion to care for others and to get them smiling and in a good mood. 😁

A little bit about Jen, she loves coffee (but mainly the creamer😜), she would prefer dogs over cats, take out food so she doesn’t have to cook but still gets the luxury of her own home, and she says she is her best self around mid day (not really a night owl or an early bird).

Her favorite words to live by are “start each day on a positive note”.

Thank you, Jen, for all you do for us ❤️
