Athlete Shoutout!!! 📣📣📣
A huge congratulations to athlete .marieeve for finishing the Nakawé 53k!!
Here are some words from Marie Eve -
“A few years ago i used to do triathlons, and since i live here in Kuujjuaq (🇨🇦), i just do runs and strength training. I love all sports, I am a big movement enthusiast.
In may 2025, I ran 30k at Mount Batur in Bali, then i got hooked for the scenic nature and challenges. I’m new in the ultra world, Nakawé 53k is my second in this category. I ran my first 57k at the Ultranza here in Québec, it was 50k but i got lost so i ran 57k overall.
The morning of , i was pumped and felt ready for a magical day… turns out it was really hard, hard - I keep saying hard because i want to remember it was…hard!! Early in the morning, in the dark, the trails were pretty unpredictable, I was happy to be surounded by many runners at this point. Later on, up hills and sunrise I was happy to swap the headlamp for the swagy shades! I thought once the climb would be over I would race downhill for 20km with the biggest smile ever. Surprise! My toes were burning and I could not run as expected, at all. I was almost wishing for hills! But I’m not a quitter.
Aid stations were pure bliss, with angels to help us out. It was about 35 degrees Celsius (95F) and the sun was burning. I needed ice, potatoes and bananas.
I finally reached the end, side by side with another Canadian who was on the 81k, a warrior. I finished it with a smile, despite my sore feet.
It was hard, but of course I already registered for a harder one! Dieng caldera race, 85k , 5495+, Java, Ind.
what are we?
I’m not Elite, just Badass.“
We can absolutely attest that you are indeed badass!!! And we LOVE being a part of someone’s journey in growing in the sport and setting new heights in their adventures!!! Can’t wait for your next adventure!!! Congratulations Marie Eve!!!
