Moberly, Mo Animal Control/ Dog Pound We service the City Limits of Moberly by enforcing current ordinances and state laws. This is the official page for the Moberly, MO Animal Shelter.

We are licensed by the Department of Ag as a City Dog Pound, Unfortunately WE DO NOT ACCEPT CATS as we do not have the proper set up to care for their many needs. Welcome and please read the RULES of the page. Thanks for stopping by! We’re a City Dog Pound, and we ask that you follow a few simple rules while you’re here:

3. We understand that opinions may differ regarding breed standards, rules, practice policies or procedures. Please keep comments positive and productive, and reflect responsible pet ownership.


4. Please represent yourself truthfully. No fake profiles or false organizations.

5. Our main goal is to find loving homes for dogs that are left behind and to care for them in the best way possible while they are under our care. Please share our posts so lost dogs can be reunited and those not claimed can find new homes. The Moberly Pound is also Animal Control. The staff members help both Humans and Animals and also run, clean, and adopt animals to new loving home. All dogs adopted from this facility are FULLY vetted including HW Test and Microchip as added care. We serve the City Limits of Moberly ONLY. When a dog is picked up as a stray it is put on 5 Day Stray Hold. This hold period is per the Department of AG Guideline, after the hold period ends the dog becomes the property of the animal shelter. The HOUNDS Program (This program is for SHELTER DOGS ONLY and is not available to the general public- All dogs entering this program are Spayed/ Neutered, Up-To-Date on all their shots and Flea/ Tick/ Worm Medicine, Heartworm Tested & Micro-Chipped and sent to the Moberly Correctional Center to be taught Basic Obedience by the Inmates. The Program is 8 Weeks Long. How to Reclaim Your Dog:
We ask that you bring a Collar And Leash of your own when when you come to claim a lost dog or adopt a dog. You will also need to bring CASH OR CHECK for the impound fees along with a copy of your drivers license and Proof of Ownership ( Vet Records in your name) The impound fee is $25.00 initial intake then $8.00 per day for each day the dog is here. After 5 days the dog becomes the property of the animal shelter and will be adopted out.

Dog/Cat Treats
Toys for both

If you can help us help those in need please drop your donations off Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

If the door is locked and no one answers please leave at the door we are either cleaning or out on a call.

We have had an individual reach out needing help with placing a total of 11 Chihuahua/Dachshund mixes! We do not have room to take them all in at once SO this is where you guys come in!

We are looking for Approved Foster to Adopt Homes

ALL vetting will be don’t through the shelter

ALL dogs will be Spayed/Neutered/Fully Vaccinated as well as microchipped.

Adoption fee will be $275

These are the only pictures we have at this time, not sure which is boy or Girl.

We are in the prime of PARVO SEASON!!!!

We are seeing at least 1 parvo positive dog a week - and not just young puppies! Several have been adult dogs that are not current on vaccines.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR PETS ARE CURRENT ON VACCINES!!!!

PLEASE AVOID ALL PUBLIC SPACES WITH YOUR PUPPIES THAT ARE NOT FULLY VACCINATED!!!

SEEKING SPONSORS FOR NEW DOG HOUSES

The gals at Crazy Dog Ladies Rescue and Sanctuary have tagged not 1 BUT 6 of our long term dogs!

Julie has worked hard to form this sanctuary and we are seeking donations for her! Without places like this many shelter dogs would not have a happy ending.

She has asked for help with Large Dog Houses and supplies. As you can see she has an amazing set up and is still working on adding to it, with YOUR support of donations she will continue to succeed!

Sponsorship Cost $80.00 per large dog house. Thank you to TRACTOR SUPPLY for giving us a bit of a break on them to help out!! Our Story

Moberly Animal Shelter is both the Shelter and Animal Control. The Shelter provides services for dogs within the city limits of Moberly, MO.

Staff members care for the dogs that are currently in the shelter along with catching dogs that have wandered too far or have been left to fend on their own, we also handle neglect and abuse cases.
